tout est dit dans le sujet...
Wow, wish I’d found this a long time ago. Been using Workbench and it’s always been a fight. Not so with Valentina. Thanks!
I've been using Valentina Studio for quite a while now, and although not perfect, it most certainly gives the paid-for alternatives a run for their money. Highly recommend this one!
Like most of the people reviewing this product, I’ve cycled through most of the other Mac clients in and out of the iTunes store. I’ve always had to fall back to Valentina. Valentina Studio is packed with features, so the GUI takes some getting used to. The free version has enough features to make this a primary tool for pulling queries. The pro features (which I haven’t tried) are mostly time savers and focus more on managing databases and reports. There are some other clients with a simpler interface that “feel” better but none of them seem to be able to handle the different types of databases I need to access.
I have straightforward need to interact with a Mariadb databases on a remote host. VSS opened my databases and let me edit tables and content in seconds. Couldn’t ask for anything more and the price is unbeatable.
First line of app description says "=== 100% Free - [...]" The $200 in app purchase contradicts the app description. I don't know if the developer intended this contradiction or if it was an oversight.
It is not clear why you blame developers. It is obiouse trouble with your MAS. Please note that MAS have strong testing of apps before they are published. Ask support from Apple, may be try to google solution for your issue. Restart computer at last of end.
This app was always "mediocre" but was at least "functionally" working, the latest UI update makes my eyes bleed, I'm sitting in a "pinwheel" 50% of my time using this app, and is the only app on my entire system that triggers the pinwheel. Not sure why time was spent on this gross new theme instead fix all the UX lag/bugs & pinwheels 3/5 stars
User-friendly database management and visualization. Excellent for testing out your SQL queries.
I’ve tried all GUI clients I’ve found on the internet and keep coming back to this one. I will agree that getting up and going is not perfectly clear and easy but once you figure it out, it makes since. The editor is the best part. I’m a fan of colored code and Valentina Studio does the best job with it.
It is free and we know if it is free you can’t ask that much. I think it does the magic. It worked very well and got the job done. I didnt encounter any problem/error so…. 5 starts! Thank you for your work.
5.6.2 does not support PostgreSQL materialized views, but 5.7 will. Filed an issue (#6972) with the developer and they addressed it in 4 days. Amazing. Any app with developers that pay attention is worth using. Per my original (negative) review, there’s still some frankly clumsy support for SSH Public Key authentication. But that’s easy to work around, and Valentia Studio may now become my preferred SQL IDE on OS X.
I tried to use this app. I found it extremely hard to figure out how to even do the simplest things, it is hard to look at and hard to use. It is fast, and I’m sure it has cool features but it is not at all intuitive on how to use them.
I am using this to view and query data from my company's MySQL databases, and it works wonderfully. The SQL editor especially is very helpful, providing documentation right there for the various DBMSs, as well as code folding and syntax highlighting. I haven't needed to manipulate the data with operations like importing or migrations, as I do not own the data I'm working with. But I highly recommend the app for my use case!
First thing I tried to do was import a simple csv file into mariadb, and it won’t work. I get seemingly 3/4 of the way through the steps to where it asks for mappiing the csv to the table columns, and then it bugs out… I can’t map anything because the options aren’t available. So, that’s a deal breaker for me.
I get an error: function pg_get_keywords() does not exist. In other parts: pg_postmaster_start_time() does not exist.
This is one of the nicest editors out there. It works well with PostgreSQL, which pleases me. Overall, everything works great. In the SQL editor I do have some issues. Every save forces the choosing of which file again. Basically, it’s always “Save As…” instead of just “Save”.
This version still not support retina display :(
I love this tool and although the price of the Pro version is steep I’ll seriously be considering purchasing it. I’m using Valentina primarily as a tool for entering data into tables and as a way to both validate and build new SQL. It’s very straightforward to use and I’m impressed with the speed of the app.
I find it very productive to have the result of a query open up in a new tab; however it will be great if you can provide a combination of keys to be able to cycle through those tabs ( you already have that for the first row of tabs, like when a new sql editor opens up). also, now that I am here, it would be useful to be enable sql script formatting when creating a view or a function script
It would be a nice tool if it did not close the script tabs when the connection "unexpectedly closed". Couldn't it ask me to save my work before silently closing it?!? That is a big issue for me - I'm uninstalling this app.
...but I can't see how to connect it to my mysql database via socket - it only offers to connect to a database via port. I probably missing something here but this seems like a major limitation to what appears to be a very robust app.
This product is excellent as far as I can tell. So far there haven't been any gotchas.
Be waiting for a better version. Try to used on my other laptop with 10.8.3, it's great without any problem. Thanks again!
This SQL editor is free! I have been using it with their fast database Valentina but it also works for MySQL, SQLite and imports and exports. I've tried it with local files and with databases in my Bonjour network.
